Had a family dinner outside with my only relatives in Singapore. Basically just the family of my Mum's elder sister, with 2 cousins, 1 elder and 1 younger than me. Just chatting and getting to know how they've been doing. Well, we know that Lisa is in the finance sector while Steven is about to graduate from the NUS
Then, started asking Lisa about CFA because it is the hot certificate which everyone seems to be taking. It used to be MBA and I just wanted to know something about it. Lisa has obtained the certificate (I have smart cousins) and Steven is currently doing the ACCA.
It makes a perosn more marketable locally and internationally with such qualification. I'm sure it helps her because she's in the finance sector. And I really don't mind studying because it takes up my extra time and energy, though I'm really comfortable staying indoor alone and to appreciate my solitude lol. But as most would know, I hate jumping into something just because everyone has it or wants it. Perhaps that's why I ended up in Japan rather than the US.
I try not to think of it as pride or arrogance but I don't like the idea that some people go for it because they're kiasu or what. Nevertheless, it beats doing nothing and just 'nuah-ing' at home =P It seems: Reading God's words > Taking the popular courses > Reading the comics
What's your take?
