Church should be more than a community. More than just friend-friend kind of environment, in the sense that there should be dependency yet, all should be just as independent (sounds contradictory, I know but I can explain)
It's because not everyone can be trusted to go through thick and thin, Christians or not, and I don't blame them. 'Though none would go with me, still will I follow♪' - we sing it all the time but how many do mean it? Just a challenge because there are some lines that shouldn't be said among Christians because it is more than a community.
For example: pressuring a 'friend' to go for something
'Let's go for it, because if you don't go, I won't be going' (something a lot of us would say all the time)
It sounds weird, because if the company is needed before I can commit myself to participate, why force myself to go in the first place. Imagine, telling someone to join me to a movie, stating that I wouldn't be going if he/she doesn't come along, well, the movie isn't worth watching, is it? But if it is something good, shouldn't the line be changed to:
'I'm definitely going, would you like to come along?' (there's no pressure here, an simple invitation)
