Home

The trip flew by, and yeah, it's the weekend again.

The trip went well, think my boss managed to achieve the objective of the trip and guess I wasn't really needed. Anyway, I can now tell people that I have been to Australia though there wasn't any time for R & R, last evening was free but it appears that all the shops close by 6pm during the weekdays and as such, I couldn't get any souvenirs for the 2nd work trip in a row. Worse still, there wasn't a chance for me to get my duty-free alcohol as we were ushered off to the VIP Complex immediately after we alighted. Haiz... Ignoring the cab fares, I have spent a grand total of A$6.95 over the past 3 days.

As we had last evening free, Han Yong and I had to find our own restaurant in Brisbane. As an Armour Officer, I was surprised to hear that he had never been to Brisbane. Our hotel was situated at Edward & Margaret Streets and it appeared to be the Raffles Place in Singapore (correct me if I'm wrong). Anyway, browsed through the menu of Cha Cha Char, Vino's and Jade Buddha ... we found that the pricing was a little too steep for humble civil servants like us (I didn't mind spending more since I didn't get to spend at all but then again, eating wasn't my specialty), in the end, we ended up at McDonald's and that's how I spent my A$6.95 (yes, please laugh, I ate at McDonald's in Australia... haiz)

The plane touched down at 3.15pm and I was home before 4. Unpacked my stuff, bathed, typed a page of minutes and am now waiting for dinner. My colleagues will be drinking at J Bar and my boys are already drinking at St James, I don't know if I am going to either. Feel like nua-ing at home, get a haircut and watch James Bond before nursing my Jet-lag ... 2-hr difference in time isn't a big deal but having to wake up at 4am (Singapore-time) for the past few days, I could do some body-maintenance.
