Just back from Kevin's wedding dinner. So happy for him but I was also sad to see so few of the SJI people gathering. I had initially thought we could fill one table but only a handful of us were there: Yik Hoe (had not seen him since our graduation, glad that he is still the same), Chao Rong (sadly, his yam-seng wasn't done very well), Adrian Liong (we used to fight back in SJI) and Lionel (well, he didn't even sit with us because he was also Kevin's classmate in NJ).
I remembered Kevin as a smart geek whose life simply consisted of studying and final fantasies - that's the reason why we were not too close, I was not a gamer and I didn't like studying =P There were times when I asked him stuff and got explanation that I couldn't understand: He'd say 'it's just $#%&$'%'' and you can imagine question marks popping up on my head. When I asked further, the response would be 'just like that lor' LOL
Nevertheless he was a great guy and he was so dazzling this evening, his wife is an assistant Professor at NUS, he's rightly employed by MHA. Looking at his accomplishment, I couldn't believe that we were manufactured in the same factory called 'SJI', it seemed like time just stood still for me the moment I went overseas while everyone just zoomed past in life and career. I met Zhen Hui (German scholar and CTC mate), he's finishing his first posting and also got married last year, Chao Rong is also getting married in March and invited me to be his swordbearer (time to de-rust my sword)
As for me? I'm just a 27-year-old boy who doesn't know what he wants to do for the rest of his life or where he wants to be in the future. It's funny when my brother got attached just last night and started showing concern for me to find a girl too (very funny); especially now that he can play the 'elder brother role' in relationships (oh please).
Well, well, that aside, I just got the intel that my director is the elder brother of Lai Xian Han, my SJI classmate. Just so weird.
