Thanks to my almost 7 hours of sleep last night, I felt much sharper today. Just that my bad habit stayed: I tend to pile my work till after office hours
It was the same in school when I'd spend playing in school and to work doubly hard at home because I did not pay attention in class. My friends thought I was a genius because they did not see me study. Well, my parents were strict and my way of thinking was: if I had to study when I am at home, I should play while I'm in school. I have never regretted it.
From 6pm to 9pm, I was possessed. Staring down 2 sets of notes (one written by me and the other written by my boss), I finished up the last 1/3 of the minutes. Yes, I felt sick half way through but I was just churning out paragraph by paragraph and I didn't realise the passage of time. 3 solid hours of microsoft word, 3 solid hours of concentration and I used up all my energy.
Well, I just want to explain why I had 2 sets of notes. Because I couldn't piece together the notes taken by me. To put it simply, I didn't copy fast enough in that 6+ hours of meeting though my fingers went limped in that ordeal.
My boss found my handwriting too neat to be written fast and I thought: don't all our parents or teachers encourage us to have good calligraphy? I am embarrassed to say that I have better handwriting than half the girls. But at this age when all the documents are typed and printed, do we still teach the kids the art of drawing lines on a piece of paper?
Does it still matter when we have mechanised everything?
I felt I was made obsolete/redundant with this wave of modernisation.
