As I left office at 10pm for the past 3 days, and seeing myself probably doing the same till at least the end of next week, it reminded me of my Year 4 in University where I spent many hours in the lab, so much so that I might have neglected a person extremely important to me.
Well, I'm not talking about her but the fact that I was spending a lot of time doing my research, and I see myself spending a lot of time in office.
How I hope that I could compare this with something else, like my History class back in SJI. World History (History 2158) is a special paper taken only by about 30 students in SJI (ie only about 30 students in Singapore would sit for that paper while the rest will sit for History 2169). Anyway, we had the reputation of 100% A1 in the subject for many years.
I chose it and preserved the tradition by getting an A1. Just that I was made to work damn hard for it. If I had 14 days to mug for an exam, I'd be spending 7 days on History while dividing the other 7 days among the rest of the subjects.
Nevertheless, it was a guaranteed success. How I wish life can be like that, guaranteed success through hardwork.
But now, it is more like research, we can't do well unless we work hard, but even then, it doesn't guarantee results.
