My Mum doesn't really notice me, before you try to tell me otherwise, let me quote you some examples:
She'll ask if my 4-yr-old PSP is new
She'll ask if my 2-yr-old Wii is new
She'll ask if my 6-mth-old Ipod is new
And when I reached home with my 'newly re-strung' tennis racket this evening, she asked if I had played tennis during my orientation course.
I always attribute it to work hazard; she's a home-maker but serving in church and is always visiting the older folks in their 70s and 80s. Somehow, she talks as if she's one of them. Sometimes, I feel as though I have a grandmother at home because my Mum has the ability to play both roles.
