Why

Had a free lunch over at Hoshi at the IMM Building. Sponsored by the Japan Embassy in Singapore and organised by JUGAS, it was a time for JUGAS to recruit fresh blood and for the Embassy to bond with returned students. Apart from the free food, I noticed that it may perhaps be easier than I thought to get a posting back to Tokyo.

I have to remind myself that those 先輩s who attended today are those who have a strong attachment wish Japan and their words may be biased but then again, looking at the 先輩s whom I had personal contact with, apart from the many who are unwilling to go back, the rest are positioning themselves to make the flight, and many are currently getting their postings there. Was most surprised to hear J○○ S○○○○ who, during his stint as regional director, quit, paid off his bond and joined HSBC in Tokyo.

With the small community of Japan Graduates that we have, it is somewhat possible. While the work will be stressful, my time in the ministry had also gave me some confidence. I may slacken in my second posting, but well, I'll see how I'll change in the coming months.
