Disappointment

There was this article on the Straits Times on tackling inflation, it talked about a family, household income of $1500, trying to feed 2 parents and 3 kids. Towards the end of the article, an "expert" gave his/her "inflation tip".

While the article emphasized on how the family would eat all meals at home, and spend only $100 a month on grocery, etc

I was expecting the "expert" to reveal what are the available schemes that the family could look into, like Workfare, etc ... but instead, the "expert" gave the following comment:

Tackling inflation tip... from nutritionist Teo Kiok Seng: Instant noodles are all right once in a while, but try mixing white rice with unpolished rice. Also, powdered milk is cheaper than UHT milk packets. Vegetable protein, such as tempeh, tofu or even baked beans are just as good - and costs less than meat.

I wanted to puke
