At KAIROS today, we watched 2 videos and one of the dialogue from the second one struck me, a junior naval officer was asked, "is the vessel more important or the mission?"
I knew it was a bit RARA to encourage us to go on missions but the question spoke much truth. And even literally, I know what the character was talking about, being aware that bringing back 70% of soldiers under my charge would be commendable. But it's not about keeping them alive, but the mission.
Do I focus on self-preservation and better my standard of living?
Or do I work towards my purpose in life?
Yes, a balance is needed but then where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
