It's kind of depressing to look at the housing prospects in Singapore, a BTO takes 5 years to complete but the resale flat costs at least 80% more than a BTO (that's some $240k for a 4-rm?)
And then there is the consideration of single- or dual-income. The number of kids. Cars. Can't help but to feel frustrated sometimes when there appears to be other unexplainable hindrances.
Was talking to my colleague just yesterday, on how the big players are investing in properties and not stocks. yeah, I agree with him, even if both earn the same % increase in return. The principal sum for property is hugely increased when we can leverage on low-interest bank loans. The problem for me, I don't have the free cash to pay the 30% for a property so there's really no way to start discussions.
Yeah, can't help but wish I come from a rich family with loose cash for me to invest.
